Pleated blinds are relatively new shading product for decoration of windows, dividers and doorways. They include usability, elegance, compact size, original design, attractive appearance and reasonable price. They can both decorate the interior and protect the room from sunlight and prying eyes.

 Types and features
According to special technology the fabric of the blind folds in a concertina design and guide wires are running through it. Model “Duolight” is made of two kinds of fabrics: transparent and solid one, that allows to adjust the light in the best way: to make the window fully open, partly shut or completely shut. The whole construction of pleated blinds is mounted to the rail and is operated by system of cords with the help of:
- chain;
- handle;
- electric drive.

Pleated blinds are suitable for standard rectangular openings and non-standard ones:
- polygonal;
- slanted;
- archy;
- trapezoid;
- rounded;
- triangular.

Classical pleated blinds are intended for rectangular standard openings of small and big sizes. This is attractive and very simple way to shut and decorate the glazed surface. Blinds can be fixed on the frame with two-sided duct tape or installed on the casement with the help of brackets. In case of necessity the construction can be installed onto the space above the opening.
Slanted blinds have their constructional features: along the length of the blind there are running strings preventing the cloth sagging. There are two kinds of pleated blinds according to the way of installation:
- without rail, strings are fixed in the top and bottom parts. Blinds are opening to the middle of the window.
- in the top the blind is fixed on the rail, in the bottom part there are fastened metal strings, blind can be open bottom-up only. 

Skylight windows are usually placed high on the roof and it is difficult to reach the cord and lower the blind by own hand. That is a reason to install electric rails with remote control and possibility to adjust blind level remotely.
Pleated blinds on the archy and slanted windows as well as on polygonal windows are looking very originally and elegantly. Made ready items consist of two parts: rectangular cloth for the main casement and segment for the complex form:

- quarter of circle;
- semi-circle;
- triangle with upper rail for mounting;
- triangle with bottom rail  for mounting.

 It is possible to compose trapezium or circle with several shaped segments.
Pleated blinds “Duolight” are very functional and efficient, different textures and densities of the cloth allow to adjust lighting level and reduce UV rays keeping the room cool. There should be mentioned two kinds of pleated blinds “Duolight”:
- movable middle part – one kind of fabric above, in the bottom part – the other kind of fabric. The lighting level is regulated when moving the middle element along the wires;
- upper element is fixed. Blind is opening bottom-up and completely movable along the window.

For decoration of slanted or large openings it is reasonable to use twofold pleated blinds. They are double cloth, sealed into tubes (cells) made of textile, plastic or paper. According to those customers who have tried such kind of blinds, double pleated blinds protect from sunlight much better and also prevent the heating of the room better than analogs. In designers' professional opinion folds in double pleated blinds are stronger, do not sag and break, that is why these blinds are firmer and win in design aesthetics.
